You are not alone. I know what it’s like to feel like work has taken over your whole life. The nights where you’re still checking your email in bed. The weekends that disappear into “just one more thing.” The guilt when you try to rest but your brain won’t let you.
I spent years running on empty at Silicon Valley startups and, at Google, EA, and Microsoft. I chased promotions and answered every late-night ping like my life depended on it.
Then one Saturday morning, my child looked up and asked:
"Mom, are you having another work-end instead of a weekend?" asking if I was going to work through the weekend AGAIN.
Oof. That one-word mic drop stopped me cold.
In that moment, I realized, I had let my job steal the very life I was working so hard to enjoy.
What finally helped me reclaim my life was a mindset shift.
Small, practical mindset shifts that gave me the clarity, confidence, and boundaries I never learned in the corporate world.
Here’s the thing:
I didn’t just magically “figure out work-life balance” after that. I dug into the research, looked at the science, and realized:

Realize rest isn’t selfish, it’s leadership.

Set boundaries that protect our best energy.
I started developing tools, testing them in my own life, and sharing them with my teams and direct reports. The changes stuck, not because they were complicated, but because they fit real life. And that’s when I knew: more people could benefit from this.
